Spirit Airlines plane skids off taxiway at Baltimore airport – Fox Business

A Spirit Airlines Airbus A320neo skidded off a taxiway after landing in Baltimore on Thursday morning amid slick conditions due to the winter storm, according to an airline official.

No injuries were reported.

“After safely landing and entering the taxiway this morning, the nose wheel of Spirit Airlines Flight 696 slowly slid onto the grass while turning a corner and taxiing to the gate,” Spirit rep Field Sutton told The Post in an email.

All 111 people aboard were transported by bus to the terminal at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport after the mishap at 6:18 a.m., he added.

The flight took off from Las Vegas at 11 p.m. local time and landed a little over four hours later, according to FlightAware.

BWI Airport said in a tweet that Anne Arundel County fire and rescue crews responded to the aircraft.

“Our winter weather team has worked throughout the day to maintain safe surfaces in the airfield and near the terminal,” the airport said in an earlier tweet before the incident.

“Rain is currently falling at BWI Marshall Airport, but crews remain on standby to maintain safe operations this evening and in the morning,” it added.
