Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley exits debut with injury – New York Post

Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley saw his NBA debut end early after suffering a hip pointer during Wednesday’s loss to the Pacers, the team announced.

The point guard appeared to hurt his hip while colliding with Indianapolis power forward Myles Turner in the second quarter.

The severity of the injury was not clear.

Quickley shined during the preseason after he was selected with the 25th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, but began the season-opener off the bench in favor of veteran Elfrid Payton.

The 21-year-old had five points in 12 minutes. Quickley was one of three from the field and hit all three of his free throws, adding a rebound and assist.
